Kaz Kanieski is a senior at Chagrin Falls High School. Some of Kaz's favorite hobbies include: photography, drawing, editing videos, editing pictures, creative writing, and buying things. Kaz finds inspiration for his pictures everywhere he goes, whether it be at some random location, or simply just while sitting on his couch. As he grew up, he learned how to take pictures better, learning all about subject matters, ISO, how to adjust settings for optimal lighting, backgrounds that don't distract from the subject, etc. This is what elevated Kaz's pictures to a whole new level. Art classes have always been Kaz’s favorite because he got the chance to give life to his doodles and to develop them more, allowing them to be more advanced. The very same doodles that he was drawing all over his notes on during class, to the point where the notes were no longer visible. The high school art classes he's studied from so far have been: Drawing, Illustration and Animation, Computer Graphics, AP Portfolio Prep Drawing, basic level Photography, and 2D AP Portfolio. Kaz’s favorite of those classes was 2D Port Prep because he was given complete creative freedom on the projects, being allowed to take it one-hundred percent in the direction he wanted to take it in. All the art classes he's explored so far have helped him develop his skills and broaden his creative knowledge, which is why he can't wait to study more of the classes in the future. Kaz likes to take pictures of almost anything, but his favorites include: sunsets, his two cats and dog, his friends and family, shoes, and any other beautiful scenes in nature. Kaz has received one official awards for his work, in addition to being showcased at every art show in high school so far with multiple pieces. Kaz won the gold award for his second favorite piece, "Revenge of the Chickens", and was second place for his all time favorite project, his custom skate deck. The skate deck was filled with all his own original characters, using edited, more developed and advanced versions of all the doodles throughout the year, in addition to some new characters. Throughout his journey thus far, Kaz had the most fun when he had more creative freedom to work on the projects in his own style (cartoony mixed with overly detailed), which is why the skate deck was his favorite project. Kaz hopes to continue add to his set of skills and knowledge, to help him develop more characters, and to allow him to do more with them.
